I browse some popular contents on dA and spot an account name "kiklopp". This account is very very popular, but there is something off about his art style

I did some research about his art. The work name "Old dock" is actually a scene from Grim Facade game. I don't know if he redrew the artwork or just downloaded it, flipped it horizontally and applied some "art" filter to get the final result, but he keeps the word "STRATEGY" at the bottom is kind of odd:

And there might be even more, for example the "Dance swith wolves" work is look alike the poster of the film Dances with wolves, just also flipped horizontally and applied the so-called art filter.

So personally, I think his style lacks of originality. Maybe his "editing skills" are great to make a picture into an art he wants, but I'm not really into it. I just share to ask if this is really an issue or not (I just want to hear your ideas about this), because to think his account still makes it today, I think most people also bypass the oddity in his style and accept it anyway
